Let’s Play Some Golf! The 2015 golf season at LGC has begun!
The golf course is now fully open for play and carts are available for use.
LGC has come through the winter in excellent shape, and with the warmer temps that we have had the past few days the course is already starting to green up. Weekend tee times have not started yet, simply “show n’ go”. The weekend weather forecast looks great, so come on out and start to work off some of the winter rust.

Check Your Grips
It is time to dig the clubs out and get them dusted off. This is also the perfect time to check the condition of your grips. The dry winter months have undoubtedly taken its toll on them. Whether stored in the house, garage, or even worse yet, your car trunk, most grips are ready for replacement after the winter. I see many golfers who try to get some extended play with old worn out grips. Sometimes grip wear is hard to detect because it can be so gradual. The fact is, once the grips have worn out, more grip pressure is required to keep the club from slipping in your hands. This added grip pressure increases tension in the swing and does not allow for the proper release (rotation) of the hands and clubhead. Grip replacement . . . it might just be the first step in curing that dreaded slice!

Senior Players Championship at Belmont CC - Volunteer Update

Be sure to mark your calendar to be at LGC next Wednesday at 6:30pm! An informational meeting will be held at the Lexington Golf Club on Wednesday, April 22 beginning at 6:30pm for LGC members. Several Volunteers who have already registered and a representative of the PGA tour will be in attendance to make a presentation, answer your questions, and inform you about the process of registering to volunteer.

The Lexington Golf Club has been chosen to marshal the 16th hole at Belmont CC during tournament week. This hole is one of the most challenging on the golf course and could be pivotal in determining the champion. We will need between 30 and 40 volunteers to fill out the shifts during the event.

This is a GREAT opportunity to be part of a Major Golf Championship right in our own backyard!
