Water Hazards (Including Lateral Water Hazards)
26-2 Ball Played Within Water Hazard

A. Ball Comes to Rest in Same or Another Water Hazard
If a ball played from within a water hazard comes to rest in the same or another water hazard after the stroke, the player may:

(i) under penalty of one stroke, play a ball as nearly as possible at the spot from which the last stroke from outside a water hazard was made (see Rule 20-5); or

(ii) proceed under Rule 26-1a, 26-1b or, if applicable, 26-1c, incurring the penalty of one stroke under that Rule. For purposes of applying Rule 26-1b or 26-1c, the reference point is the point where the original ball last crossed the margin of the hazard in which it lies.

Note:
If the player proceeds under Rule 26-1a by dropping a ball in the hazard as near as possible to the spot from which the original ball was last played, but elects not to play the dropped ball, he may then proceed under Clause (i) above, Rule 26-1b or, if applicable, Rule 26-1c. If he does so, he incurs a total of two penalty strokes: the penalty of one stroke for proceeding under Rule 26-1a, and an additional penalty of one stroke for then proceeding under Clause (i) above, Rule 26-1b or Rule 26-1c.

Jaco Ahlers Secures 4th Sunshine Tour Victory with Srixon and Cleveland

Congratulations to Srixon and Cleveland tour staff player Jaco Ahlers on his fourth Sunshine Tour win at the KCM Zambia Open at the Nchanga Golf Club.

There’s one piece of equipment directly involved in every single shot you make on the course – your golf ball.

It’s definitely worthwhile to consider the new Srixon Z-STAR golf balls and start your journey to better golf. They offer an idyllic balance of distance, spin and feel.

Regards,
Werner

Last week we showed you a great practice game: Par 18. Almost all golfers face the Par 18 challenge in their round every week.

That makes your Wedge set very important to your game. You might have been fit for your Irons, but were you fit for your Wedges? Does the design of your Wedges help make your short-game easier and more effective? Why not book in for a scoring club assessment?

Next time you are able to practise some bunker shots, make accelerating through impact your swing thought.

Bunker play is a great example of the danger of written instruction. Golfers have read a few guide points: Open the face, dig in the sand, aim behind the ball etc.; and then tried to apply those. Looking around your friends’ and playing partners’ bunker play, how many would you think are good bunker players?

Come and see us and let us make the bunker a simple greenside hazard to escape with a real chance of an up and down.
