What a fantastic opening!

225 players did us the honours of playing on this historical day. It started off with our captain Craig and his 4-ball teeing off at 06h48 followed by the rest. The best thing of all was that I did not hear one negative thing about the impression of the new course.

Everyone loved the feel and the look of our new baby. All we have to do now is watch her grow up and look after her. Thanks to all that helped to make this day a huge success.

Tony and his team must be mentioned for getting the course in such good condition! We have numerous photos of the day and we have drone footage as well.

Enjoy!

Our course opening was a great success!

What a fantastic 2017/18 season we had!

The participation was astounding for a 2x9 hole course. We must take our hats off to the organisers, Brian Kemlo, Jan Wams & Johan Rademeyer for all their effort in ensuring that this popular event carries on and improves.

Thanks also to the rooster for showing his face now & then!

"Brian, Johan and Jan,

My apologies for not being at your final Sundowner show of the season, but I was having my annual cultural injection at Starlight Classics, along with a large number of other SWGC members.

I want however to express my thanks, as I am sure do many other Sundowner participants, for all the work you have done during the Summer months, not only in securing prizes on a weekly basis, but for the time spent organising the teeing off on the Friday afternoon – creating playing groups and sorting out the order of play.

I did notice that your demeanour, smiles and the organisation skills improved remarkably once all three of you had a green bottle in your hands. This is part of the culture surrounding Sundowner and makes the competition special. A special thanks also to Jacob for supplying the players with their “on course” Sundowners on the hot Summer evenings.

Again – Thanks Guys and hope to see you next year.

Regards
Rob Chowles"

One of the biggest differences between Tour Professionals and regular golfers is
the amount of attention the very best continually pay to their setup.

Rickie Fowler, in a Golf.com instruction piece several years ago, made the point that he continually
worked on his grip, body alignment, stance width, and his posture (including the body bend and tilt)
in practice with his caddie.

To view this short Golf.com article on Rickie Fowler’s setup,

I think most golfers can embrace Jack Nicklaus’s comment that it’s almost impossible
to hit a good shot with a poor setup. So, the question is, why don’t golfers put more effort into this
relatively simple process? Which, of the several potential reasons we’ve identified, do you think is the
cause of so many poor shots on any given day?
