 Dale Hayes Charity Golf Day - Wed, 7th Feb
Zwartkop plays host to many charity golf days throughout the year, but the one that is closest to our hearts is the Dale Hayes Charity Day. We raise money at this event which we then give to the Lions Club of Centurion Lifestyle to distribute to people and organisations within our community who are the most in need.

Over the last two years we have raised in the region of R200 000.00 so we need your help to add to that tally. Although the entry fee may sound steep at R6 600 per four-ball, each player will receive awesome gifts including a pair of Adidas golf shoes valued at over R1500 plus your green fees, halfway house; dinner, entertainment and great prizes are included!

Old friends…
On Saturday an old friend of Zwartkop popped into the shop. David Faught was a junior member at the Club who eventually went on to get his Springbok colours for golf along with Darren Fichardt and Patrick O’Brien. David eventually turned pro and played in the USA. David sends all the “old members” his warm regards and cannot believe how fantastic Zwartkop now looks. He sent this note to Dale after his visit: -

David Faught here, long time ago Zwatties members. Living over in Dallas now.
Came over for a visit from the States and swung by the club to take a look and show the kids where I grew up.
Improvements are great! Had lunch, food was excellent.
Well done, I was proud to show off my old club. Best part was seeing all of the old caddies!

The New Year is always a good time to take stock and give your game a brush up. Why not take a couple of lessons to sort out the niggles that have crept into your game over the last year so that you can enjoy your game to the maximum! There is no one more qualified to assist you than our Head Teaching Professional, Elsabe Hefer. Give her a call on 0829228408 to book a lesson.

 Elsabe is busy working her way around the golf course to give you tips on how best to play Zwartkop. She’s identifying areas where you might battle and gives you ideas on how to avoid finding the trouble!

Wingate / Waterkloof / Zwartkop Alliance
The Alliance we have between ourselves, Waterkloof and Wingate is being really well supported and we hope that you are enjoying the flexibility it provides you to play at other courses from time to time. Please do remember that there are rules in place to ensure the Alliance operates smoothly - and they must be followed: -
• Bookings can only be made by our golf shop staff so contact Ian, Joseph, Vusi or LJ and they will make the booking on your behalf. Please do not arrive at Wingate or Waterkloof without an advance booking having being made by our staff!
• Bookings are subject to availability and can only be made one week in advance for games Monday to Friday and Sunday.
• Bookings for Saturday afternoons can only be made the day before.
• Saturday mornings are excluded from the arrangement.

This weekend was probably the weekend that we took the biggest beating in 2 clubs since I’ve been at the club. After the umpteenth person walking into the golf shop claiming his 2-club, I then had Almero Meyer walk in with a fat grin on his face. Knowing very well why I asked what hole he made his 2-club on. To my surprise he holed out on the 11th. Now I really don’t mind giving out balls for a 2 club like that!

On Saturday two of our members broke their age. First was Fanus Smidt, who has done this on a couple of occasions and second was David Good who shot a 75. David is 77 years old – well done from all of us here at the club!
