We are very proud to be hosting a match today between the South Africans that volunteer to work at Sunshine Tour tournaments and the Europeans who work on the television coverage, which includes some of the commentators.

The European Tour television crew and commentators will also be joining us for the Wine Tasting Evening on Thursday where they will be exposed to both the Louis 57 wines and the wonderfully talented musician Jacques Lagesse!

The crew is obviously in the area for this week’s Tshwane Open at Pretoria Country Club. We have tickets for the event so if you would like to attend, please ask in the golf shop. There is no better way to spend a day than walking the fairways with your whole family – make a day of it!

“I am not good enough to be Club Fitted.”
This is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard, because in fact, it’s the club golfer who will benefit the most from club fitting. Why? Well, mostly because the pro’s and top amateurs have been doing it for years.

There are basically two types of clubfitting - real shots on the driving range and indoor shots into a net.

I’m sorry to say that indoor clubfitting leaves a lot to be desired. This gives the salesman the opportunity to pull the wool over your eyes because you cannot see the flight of the ball. The ideal is on the range with a Flitescope. The combination of top technology and being able to see the shots, will give you confidence in what you are choosing to purchase. Nowadays, with all the adjustability options you can see the results both on the Flitescope and in the actual flight of the golf ball.

Give us a call and we’ll make sure you get properly club fitted – (012)654-2111 / proshop@zwartkopcc.co.za

Most golfers are looking for equipment that will make the game a little easier,
allowing them to experience the real joy of a good golf shot more often.

Where would your game most benefit from an improvement?
Do you need to get the ball in play more often, with the added
bonus of being further down the fairway? Or would you enjoy hitting
a longer Iron knowing it’s likely to land on target, converting more
tee shots into good scores? Why not start with an assessment with us?

Have we inspired those of you shooting above 90, to target 89 or less on every occasion this year?
How much better is 16 bogeys and 2 pars (on any Par 72), than what you have to
live with if you’re shooting 95 or higher? So our final tip:

How many 3-putts do you have to suffer each round? Most inexperienced golfers’ cards will reveal 3 or more 3-putts each round. Remove those and you’re 3 shots (or more) closer to 89. So here are two suggestions:

Most 3-putts have, at their root, a poor first putt. Sometimes it’s a poor read.
Sometimes, poor contact. But mostly, less experienced golfers suffer with poor control of speed and distance.
So let’s fix it.

Understanding what will happen in the last feet of the putt will not only lead to more great putts that drop,
it should also leave you with a little thought: an easier 2nd putt.

Every golfer can become a wizard of the greens. There are skills that everyone can learn.
You’ll be amazed at the impact it will have on your scorecard.
