  Sunday’s Scramble was great fun!

What a blast! It took the Americans to invent a new version of golf that almost guarantees you never have to play out of trouble – Scramble!

Adam, Fritz, Dale and Vydir put out a challenge to all members – beat their score and they would buy you a pizza after golf. They shot 61 gross & less their handicaps their score was 52,8. Unbeatable – or so they thought!

They were however beaten by two teams, including young Ruan Oosthuizen and Markus Kruger!

It was great fun and the next event is going to take place on Sun, 3rd June where we will combine the Otway & Glenn Hayes Mixed with our Sunday Scramble  challenge.

Adam, Ian and their choice of two lady partners will throw down the challenge with two pizza’s up for grabs after golf. If you lose to them, then sorry - you have to buy your own! There’s still the Mixed Trophy up for grabs though, and prizes, so make sure you diarise the date!

“The golf day by the LCCL on Monday 13th to raise funds for their many community service projects in Centurion was a great success. The weather played ball despite the likelihood of rain. According to Lions Club President Ryno Olivier and the convenor of the golf day it was a really great event that was enjoyed by everyone that participated and should raise some R40 000 for community service projects in the larger Centurion area. The Doubles Knock-Out have come to a close. Well done to Jannie Venter and Jack van Helsdingen who managed to beat Charles Tolmay and Riaan Janse Van Rensburg on the 18th. They had to work extremely hard for their victory as Charles and Riaan turned 2 up and looked well in control.


For those who have still not written in for the Club Champs, please remember to do so as we only have 180 spots available. The dates are the 19th and 20th May for the A Division and the 19th and 26th for B, C, Ladies & Seniors.
