As we finally move on to some good weather for 2018 it is about time to think about bringing out some of your friends and family to enjoy our beautiful course. Remember that we sell 6-packs of guest fees for only $300 (a savings of at least $150) all throughout the season. If you would like to purchase a 6-pack of guest fees, please let me know.

Keep in mind that the guest passes will expire at the end of the year they are purchased in.

The rain kept us from being able to get out for a video for this week, so below our just a few things that we would like you to keep in mind as we move into our season here at CCL.

1. Fix your ball marks:
Over the past few years our membership has grown steadily and we have a very active, amazing club now. This is for the most part a very good thing that makes the club way more enjoyable. With the increase in activity we also see an increase in golf balls being hit into the greens. Please remember that a properly fixed ball mark will heal in 3-5 days, while a ball mark that is not fixed will take up to 2 weeks to heal. For a refresher on how to fix a ball mark, take a look at the pic below.

2. Sunflower seeds, cigarette butts and chewing tobacco:
Over the last couple weeks the number of times I have had to move/pick up these out of my line or off the driving range is alarming. If you chew seeds, smoke or chew tobacco please discard these items in proper areas (specifically trash cans). To be blatantly honest, it is disgusting for somebody else to have to clean this stuff up after you.

3. Pace of Play:
At CCL we will strive to maintain a 4 hour pace for golf. To do this we will use the Golf Professional Staff and Marshals to help you keep your pace moving. If at any time one of us approaches you to ask you to pick up the pace, please understand it is not an attack, but simply an attempt to help ensure all players have the chance to enjoy a great day at CCL.

If you have any questions at all regarding this week's tips - please let me know.

Season Long - Qualifier deadline on May 21st

This is our second year for the Dunning Cup, our Gross Match Play (no handicap) bracket event that will be played throughout the year. In order to participate in this event, players will need to play a qualifying round from the blue tees between now and May 21st. In order to count as a qualifying round, the player must tell the Golf Shop prior to the start of the round and must have another member sign the scorecard.

The player with the lowest score will earn the #2 seed as our 2017 champion, Nate Wright, will have the #1 seed. The rest of the players will be seeded based on their qualifying score through the top 16 seeds. The field will then be split into pods of four players and each player will be guaranteed three matches. The player from each pod with the best record will move on to compete for the semi-finals. All matches will be played with no handicaps and will be played from the blue tees.

The Fairway Wood is probably as
difficult a club to hit as
any in the bag.

It’s hugely useful if you can hit it consistently, but almost a waste
of space in the bag if you can’t.

Improvements in face technology
to increase forgiveness across
the face are welcome.

The fitting and setup of this club is critically important. Everything you
can do to make sure the ball launches easily and accurately, should be done. That includes investing time to find the shaft that translates difficult into easy.

An assessment and fitting is of paramount importance.

Make sure the Fairway Woods and Hybrids in your bag are as easy to use as possible, and integrated
so that you have no big distance gaps or overlap from the clubs at the top of your bag.

Where in the levels above ‘inexperienced’ do you sit?

Which level are you at? If you want to shoot lower scores, then improving your
level is the easiest and quickest way to get there.

We’d strongly recommend booking in for a short game assessment with us.
Get your technique checked and let’s see where improvements can be made to get you to Graduate,
Master or Wizard, whichever is your next level. Bring a friend or friends.
This is great fun in a group.
