With less than stellar golfing weather dominating much of the spring so far, it was great to finally get into a more favorable weather pattern this week. The warm (even hot!) weather this week has really woken up the golf course. The grass has been greening, the flowers are blossoming, and the trees are blooming. This is what we have all been waiting for.

At long last, the golf season has arrived!

The Spring Four-Ball qualifying round was played last Saturday.
12 teams teed it up trying to qualify for one of the 8 spots available in match play. Mike and Steve Keegan led all qualifiers with an impressive net score of 60 (-11). The team of Steve Jepsen and TJ Lombardini shot 65 (-6) to tie Mel Carreras and Henry Liu for 2nd place. The last match play spot was secured by Jack Finlayson and Mike Amico via a sudden death play-off against Peter and Chris Manning.

In early match play competition, the team of Peter Manning Jr. and Nicholas Manning edged out Mike Champagne and Steve Tunney 3 & 2. All other matches are scheduled for tomorrow.

The four winning teams in the first round will advance to the semi-finals. The four losing teams will compete in the consolation flight.

On Wednesday evening, about 25 ladies came out for an early season short game tune up at the 6th annual “Chip 'n Sip" Clinic. The weather was fantastic (for a change). After an hour of short game work, everyone retired to the porch to enjoy some adult beverages, the beautiful weather, and the “Sip” portion of the festivities. A good time was had by all.

As the Ladies Golf Division kicks off the new season, we would like to remind everyone that ALL women members of any golfing level are welcome to join in the fun on Tuesday mornings.

Tuesday (May 8th) is the opening Scramble and Luncheon. Sign up is in the women’s locker room. If you are unable to make the golf, consider joining the ladies for the luncheon. We would love to see you!

New 2nd tee

Future site of the 4th tee

Tee Project Update: The new 2nd tee was leveled and sodded this week. There has been no progress to report on the new 4th tee. It remains an unshaped pile of dirt as additional fill will be required before it can be completed.

Please note: We are playing all construction areas, and any areas that have been disrupted by the tee project construction, as “ground under repair”. Free relief – nearest point, not nearer the hole.

Have a Great Golfing week!

The chicken and the egg remains the perennial question.
It never seems considered that the chicken might not lay the egg, or that the egg might not hatch.

Which comes first: the improved swing or a set of fitted Irons?
How many of you this year will invest in a game improvement program to
fundamentally change and improve your golf swing?
If that’s a commitment you want to make,

However, whether you’re going to improve your swing or not, we want the egg to hatch. G
olf equipment that fits improve your golf experience immediately.

Almost every golfer we custom fit for a set of Irons notes at least one dimension of measurable improvement.
Those with higher handicaps and the less skilled often see two, or even three,
dimensions of measurable improvement, IMMEDIATELY.
What could your improvement be?

Which area of your golf game, if improved, would create the biggest increase in enjoyment out on
the golf course (including a lower score), causing you to want to get out and play more golf?

If you had to make a decision which would it be?
We’re interested in which part of their game golfers think improvement would make the most impact.

With this information we can create better coaching programs, the right clinics,
and more of the fun events that would make your time at the facility and
out on the golf course more enjoyable.
