In Memorial: Lexington GC lost its oldest member and a true gentleman of the game this week.
Dick Harding passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 at the age of 99. He had been a golfing member since 1940, and no doubt played at LGC several additional years before that, as a junior member under his dad’s membership. Dick’s passion for LGC was evident by his service to the club. He served as the Vice-President 1948-49, and the President 1949-51. He also served as the club Secretary from 1956-71.

Dick was also a fine player, winning the Club Championship a record 7 times! (1951, 52, 54, 56, 58, 64, 65) A golfing purist, Dick was still hitting a persimmon driver long after everyone had made the switch to more forgiving metalwoods. He was loathe to move up to the senior tees, even when he was well into his 90’s. At the end, he only “gave in” because all his playing partners played the forward tees. And the putter. Dick possessed one of the most deft touches around the greens and was one of the finest putters you would ever know. And he did it all with one putter his entire career. A rusty old trusty blade that he had from his earliest golfing days, which he wielded with surgical precision.

Our condolences go out the Harding family. We share in their loss as the world loses another from the “Greatest Generation”.

If you’re shooting under 80, most times out (we all have bad days), then of course a
benefit of added distance with no extra effort required , matters.

But your biggest win is if we can take a 6 Iron approach and help you put it 10 feet closer more often.

Almost every golfer we custom fit for a set of Irons notes at least one dimension of measurable improvement.
Those with higher handicaps and the less skilled often see two, or even three,
dimensions of measurable improvement, IMMEDIATELY.
What could your improvement be?

Where in the levels above ‘inexperienced’ do you sit?

Which level are you at? If you want to shoot lower scores, then improving your
level is the easiest and quickest way to get there.

We’d strongly recommend booking in for a short game assessment with us.
Get your technique checked and let’s see where improvements can be made to get you to Graduate,
Master or Wizard, whichever is your next level. Bring a friend or friends.
This is great fun in a group.
