If you keep doing what you’re doing – you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.”

To change your game, you probably need to change the way you practice.

To putt less, practice putting more.

• Start close to the hole, less than five feet and make “in-a-rows.”
o Close to the hole helps you develop a relationship with your target.
o In-a-row helps you simulate pressure – the last 2/3/4 (name your number) don’t count unless I make this ONE!

If you are struggling from up close, your success from further away is not likely to improve. Start close (3-5 feet) and work around the hole. You may notice one of our new members, Julian Suri, on the putting green or some of the UNF players practicing. As they practice it is common for them to stake out a hole and place four tees around the hole, like compass points. They set the number they will make in-a-row from each corner and then move on. This ensures they hit up-hill putts, down-hill putts, right to left putts and left to right putts. In this way they are incorporating speed and direction control into their practice.

Full swing.

When I walk the practice tee, what I witness more than anything is players hitting into space. The most important thing to productive practice is consistent alignment. To be aligned means you must pick a target. It is critical that you establish an alignment method that supports the swing you are trying to make. It also allows you to evaluate any challenges you may be having. If you haven’t aligned yourself, or don’t know where you are aligned to, you just don’t know if your ball went were it went because you are set-up there or because your swing sent it there – the dreaded straight ball.

You may have recently received an email reminder to post your score from a previous day. The ForeTees system will compare the tee sheet to GHIN posted scores. In addition to ensuring all postable rounds are recorded, it also prevents wrong billings.

Please contact the Golf Shop if you need to make an adjustment or need to post your score. The Golf Shop can also categorize a round as a “No-Post” round if your group plays a format that doesn’t allow for a posted score. (i.e. scrambles, shambles, foursomes, etc.)

We appreciate your help to increase our average score posting from 85% to 100%.

Ginny Fritz
Grandmother's Champion of 2018

We congratulate, Ginny Fritz, our 2018 Champion Grandmother of the Year! Mrs. Fritz earned 34 points in a round that included 6 net birdies and a back nine of 16 that gave her the edge in a scorecard playoff over Linda Soud who instead took the Yaya Flight top prize. Mrs. Soud's round included an impressive 20 points on the South Nine. Shelia Hartman and Rosemary Crimmins were just one point behind the overall lead and took first place in the GaGas and Meemaws flights, respectively. Also earning special mention, Beverly Beck put on an excellent defense of the 2017 title with a point total of 33.

Please visit the SWGA Web Site for complete results.

Finally, we would like to extend a special invitation to the Inaugural Women's Member-Pro at Sawgrass! OK, we’d like your name.

But actually we’re interested in your
opinion and thoughts.

Pitch and Putt was always a good game

Some golfers will describe other courses as a ‘Pitch and Putt’.
I’m not sure how they mean it, but we’d like to suggest that ‘Pitch and Putt’ is actually a great game.
