February Team Day

Conditions were favorable for scoring in the February edition of Team Day. Laura Dobbs led the entire field with 44 points, a total that equaled the previous high of the year, and earned the top spot in the First Flight for the second month in a row. Her closest challenger both overall and in flight was Diana Stewart who amassed 41 points, the third highest of the entire Team Day series. They were joined as flight winners by Patty Brooks (Second Flight, 36 points won in match of cards with LuAnn Long), Marge Monteith (Third Flight, 31 points), and Trace Duryea (Fourth Flight, 36 points). Next week is the First Lady's Cup, the all net individual major of the SWGA. There will be an overall prize and flight prizes.

Sawgrass Country Club will play host to many the best collegiate teams in the country this February. We invite you to experience the future of the PGA Tour battle the difficult East/West Course. The University of North Florida will have a hospitality area open to all Sawgrass members and guests on tournament days and encourages member participation in the Saturday College-Am. LADIES' GOLF CLINICS -- Monday Afternoons -- 2:00-3:00pm -- OR -- 3:30-4:30pm

  Improve your game on Monday afternoons with teaching professional, Laura Baugh. Each week will highlight an aspect of the game to get you scoring better! Suggested class size is 6-8 ladies.

MEN’S GOLF CLINICS -- Tuesday & Thursday Mornings 9:30-10:30am

  Spend Tuesday and Thursday mornings with Head Professional Mike Broderick to tune up your skills or get a quick refresher on the basics of the game. These sessions will be opportunities to discuss one element of golf that may be causing trouble in your own game.

"GIRLS ONLY" JUNIOR GOLF CLINICS -- Tuesdays from 4- 5pm

  Girls ages 7-15 are encouraged to learn all aspects of the game in a fun, hour long clinic.

WORKOUT WEDNESDAY -- Wednesday morning from 7:30-8:45am

  Each Wednesday through the school year and each Saturday morning throughout the year our Assistant Golf Professionals will host junior clinics for juniors of all ages (5-15 years of age) and abilities. Clinics will focus on a short game and a long game aspect each week.
