We are certainly in the midst of a very busy time of year for Golf Course Maintenance. Throughout the month of March, the scheduled closed days will find GCM bringing in outside contractors to make our mole cricket applications to the property. The product will be slit injected into the soil. The tractor and the pull behind implement will leave slicing marks in the turf. CLICK HERE to continue reading…

Barbara Mulcahy & Indu Sapra
2018 SWGA Member-Member Champions

The final matches of the 2018 SWGA Member-Member created suspense as the teams of Shelia Hartman & Grace Jones and Beverly Beck & Bonnie Taft looked poised to head to the course for a sudden death playoff for Overall Member-Member title, each with 28 points for the week. Eventually, just one match was yet to arrive back. Indu Sapra & Barbara Mulcahy, round two leaders, rolled into the clubhouse with a chauffeured ride (their cart quit on the way in) and 5.5 points in hand, edging out the overall victory by a half a point! Please extend a big congratulations to our 2018 SWGA Member-Member Champions.

In addition to the pair at 28 points, our flight winners included the teams of Nancy Marshall & Kathy Church (First Flight, 25 points), Peggy Widicus & Ginny Stott (Second Flight, 25.5 points), Mary Lou Bannon & Linda Schlipf (Fourth Flight, 25 points), and Jean Smiley & Sharon Ellis (Fifth Flight, 26 points). Please visit the results link above for the complete listing. Thank you to all who joined in!

Progressive Low Ball

Congratulations to this week’s winning team of Kathy Church, Shelia Hartman, Phyllis Peter-Mallard, and Barbara Mulcahy on their Progressive Best Ball winning round of 132 net (-12). They played nice and steady only succumbing to team bogey on two of the 3 best ball holes. Lis Petersen, Barbara Wright, Pat Lyons, and Trace Duryea were next in line at 9-under. Impressively, they were 6-under on the challenging 3 best ball holes. Rounding out the top three was the team of Paula Fairley, Indu Sapra, Judy Groves, and Beverly Beck. Complete results are available by clicking the link above.

Next week, find your own partner to take on the field in the 2 Lady Stableford. Don't forget to hop on over to ForeTees to register your team. As always, the golf shop is happy to help look for a partner. We hope to see you then!

2018 Men’s Irish Open

The annual Irish Open was held on Saturday, March 10th with 148 men with the Irish spirit resonating throughout the fairways! Chef Michael Meuse and his culinary team outdid themselves again with a delicious spread following play. The golf course play hard and fast with the recent cold snap, making scoring difficult. The favorable shamble format was enjoyed by our champions. Please join us in congratulating our champions:

Lift will play a significant part in getting your next flight off the ground. Back spin
generates lift for your golf ball, but how much is too much for you?

The temptation as a parent is to measure your child’s relationship with the game by their competitive performance.
The relationship with the game, depending on your child’s age, should influence your thinking.

As a team, we can make sure your child develops a healthy relationship with the game.
From there, the pathway can take so many different directions with all sorts of different levels
of achievement. But, whatever the journey, we want them to enjoy the game and make a lot of friends.

Come and talk to us about the best way to introduce golf to your child
or how to develop their ability.
