It looks like Spring is finally here and for me it couldn’t be soon enough. The incredible grounds crew has been out all week getting things prepared for our opening.

We are opening at 11:00 on Sunday the 18th.

With that said I want to share pricing and programs we are running at South Hills for 2018. This is the time you want to plan out your seasonal play time!

For the month of March only
Ride 9 holes and get $3.00 off a dozen golf balls.
- Ride 18 holes and get $5.00 off a dozen golf balls.
This special isn’t good with any other special and balls must be purchased in the month of March.

I attended the final round of the Valspar PGA event on Sunday
. It was amazing watching 5000 people run from spot to spot to watch Tiger hit every shot. We decided to camp out on hole 9 and the holes 16 and 18 instead of traveling the whole course.

My biggest take away from watching these incredible players were:
  - They all hit the ball extremely straight
- They don’t all hit the ball long
- Most of them hit the ball much higher then I typically see the players at South Hills
- They all know exactly how far they hit each of their clubs
- The reason Paul Casey won was his ability to get the ball up and down when he missed a green as well as convert on birdie putts.
- Tiger didn’t win simply because he didn’t putt as well as Paul Casey did.

If you want to shoot lower scores this year then you need to pitch, chip and putt the ball better. I believe fully that this ability is a combination of instruction, equipment and practice. Give me a call at 319-291-4268 to see how I can be a part of your solution to scoring better and having more fun with your friends this year.

Lift will play a significant part in getting your next flight off the ground. Back spin
generates lift for your golf ball, but how much is too much for you?

The temptation as a parent is to measure your child’s relationship with the game by their competitive performance.
The relationship with the game, depending on your child’s age, should influence your thinking.

As a team, we can make sure your child develops a healthy relationship with the game.
From there, the pathway can take so many different directions with all sorts of different levels
of achievement. But, whatever the journey, we want them to enjoy the game and make a lot of friends.

Come and talk to us about the best way to introduce golf to your child
or how to develop their ability.
