Hello Everyone

The rain certainly arrived as predicted. The Seniors Classic on Monday was rained out and has been re-scheduled for the 25th of June. There are still a few spots available and Emelia has simply taken the exact bookings for Monday and put them into the time-sheet for the new date. If you cannot play or would like to make any changes, please contact her directly.

Bookings for Fathers and Sons opened this Thursday (24 May) at 8am via telephone. Remember it includes daughters and grandchildren too. The date for this day is the 24th June. Cost is R100 competition fee which includes great prizes and pizza after the game.

The winners of the Wags Boydie Yellow Ball Challenge held on Tuesday 15th May were Leon Le Roux, Tim Largier, Mike Donnelly, Doug Boyd (sponsor), Colin Thompson. Well played, Gentlemen!

The next R10K draw is on the 1st June. This coincides with the Friday Classic, the next of our Festival events. The format for this is American Scramble and it is filling up very quickly. There are 6 four-balls left, so give Emelia a call if you would like to play. The prizegiving, R10K draw and a party with music will all be held downstairs and not in the upstairs bar. Pizzas will be on sale so no need to go home for supper. Stay at the club, invite the family and friends to join you and lets have some fun!

The Mixed Open for June is on Sunday 3rd. Bookings are now open so call the office to book your spot. As usual, there will be a delicious meal upstairs along with prizegiving. Remember non-members may play in this day too, so invite your friends from other clubs to join us for the day.

A reminder to please keep carts away from sensitive areas. This includes tees and tee surrounds and greens. In addition, there is a limit of 2 carts per 4 ball to minimise damage to the golf course during winter.

A word of congratulations to Dudley Rosier who has made the Senior Western Province Kestrels team to play Boland at Robertson Golf Club on the 9th and 10th June. Well done Dudley and good luck.

The Sanlam Cancer Challenge was held this past Saturday. The 3 division winners who go through to the regional finals were as follows:

A Division – Neill Campbell
B Division – Martin Peter
C Division – Neil Balfour

Good luck gentlemen!

A division winner Neill Campbell

B division winner Martin Peter

The Coronation Bowl was played on Sunday and fittingly this was a day after the Royal Wedding, this cup celebrating the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth in 1953. The winners this year were Gordon and Charlene Faint. Well done!

Finally, I would like to take the liberty of mentioning the UEFA Cup Final this Saturday. Being a Liverpool fan myself, my loyalties are certainly with my team, but to all the supporters and lovers of football, enjoy. It should be a flowing, open game, the last club football before the World Cup next month.

Have a fantastic week!
