It’s hard to believe that the first Major of 2018 is already upon us. The Masters is here and in just over 48 hours many of us will be staying up late to watch the very best take on one of the game's most iconic battlefields.

Every year there is always hype, an expectation that this year will bring with it something more majestic than in years gone by, but I feel that perhaps this year the anticipation may be greater than we’ve felt in the past.

There are so many stories, as there always are, from fallen legends looking to rise from obscurity to prove once again that greatness never truly disappears, to the story that only needs one final chapter to be written in order for a young man from Northern Ireland to join the esteemed company of Sarazen, Hogan, Player, Nicklaus and Woods as the only players to have won them all. We then have those looking to price the doubters wrong, to show that it doesn’t matter what form they’ve been in leading up to this week, all that matters is what they have come Thursday. And lastly, we have those looking to join that elite class and write their names in the history books as major Champions.

The field, as always, is filled with potential winners no matter where you look. Conditions look to be good for the first two days, but heavy rains and cooler temperatures are forecast on Saturday and Sunday. This could help soften the greens, making some of the more difficult pin positions more accessible, but at the same time will make the course play a lot longer.

There are 5 South Africans in the field with Dylan Frittelli making his debut after an incredible 18 months that has seen him fly up the World rankings. As always, I’ll be rooting for BG as he makes his 6th consecutive start at Augusta and will be looking to continue his good form from the past few months. He’s had his ups and downs at Augusta, as so many have, but nothing trumps experience on a layout that rewards those with a calm head and a brave heart.

It’s going to be another epic week filled with massive roars, incredible golf and unforgettable moments. No tournament captivates the world of golf better than The Masters.

Until next week,
Pete

Scotty Cameron has a new line of putters and they are the new arrival in store this week. Scotty Cameron are always a quality putter and can often be seen in tight competition with brands such as Odyssey.

Your putter is your most useful tool in your golf bag - a golf round that consists of good putting will definitely make a big difference to your score at the end of the day. No matter how bad you hit the ball, as long as you can get it in the hole, a bad round can turn into a good round. Therefore, being fitted into the correct putter is very important.

What makes the 2018 range of Scotty Cameron Putters so special?

Sight - Every contour and sight cue has been refined to enhance alignment op-portunities and instil confidence.
Sound - Up to 30% more vibration dampening material connects face inlays with putter bodies for improved sound, feel and feedback.
Sole - Each 2018 Select putter has been re-engineered with Scotty’s four-way balanced sole design, which accounts for the weight of the shaft and grip resulting in a putter that sits perfectly square at address to promote easier alignment on virtually any lie.

Scotty Cameron 2018 still has all the shapes and designs that we have come to enjoy over the years and the best news by far is that they have arrived in store and are waiting on you to come and test.

Till next time, turn a bad round into good a good one.
Andrew
