This week really signals the end of the summer season. Not only can you feel the change of temperature with crisp mornings and cooler evenings, but as schools return for the 2nd term and our foreign guests head home, the signs are clear that low season is very much upon us.

Running a business in a holiday town definitely has its pros and cons. On the one hand, when it’s busy, it’s really, really busy and with that there’s a feeling of energy and excitement as things are continuously happening and you’re always on the go. On the other hand, the busy summer months means longer hours, less time with friends and family and while everyone else is having fun, your staff are working harder than ever. However, when summer ends, business really slows down and for many it’s a question of just covering costs over the winter and using the hard earned profits from the summer to keep things going during the low season where business is slow and tough.

The point of all this, is that running a business in a town like Knysna is not just about the foreigners and holiday makers. The locals are a vital component in the sustainability of any business and without the support of the locals, no business can survive. Towns like Knysna can only grow if the locals support one another. So, if there is one thing you can do this winter that can make a difference, keep it local and be a part of a community that needs the support of one another.

Until next week,
Pete

With all the new products having arrived in store, we can now turn our attention to the fitting process and point out why it is of vital importance to be fitted correctly. Most golfers walk into the shop and ask me “Would the Cobra Driver work for me”?

The answer to that question is yes, it could. But let’s be certain and put it to the test against some of the other products in that range, as there could be more than one driver that would work wonders for your game.

Having said that, let’s take a look at some of the products that have come in store and have shown good results.

TaylorMade M4 - they have really created a buzz with the whole new “TWIST FACE” technology and their new Atmos Shaft has also shown really good results.

Callaway Rogue - the draw version of this driver has really been revolutionary - Even Pete The Pro is now playing with the Rogue (Sub Zero Version) and their range of Shafts cover a nice base.

XXIO - of late we have seen some nice results with this driver during fittings - the ball flight is amazing and it is overall a very light club that packs a serious punch.

I am very excited to see just how well we will do with the new products that launched this year, as the year really has started off with a bang. There is some serious competition and all that is left for you to do is book a time and let one of the pros help you get more distance or simply a bettter ball flight.

Hope to see you in store soon.
