My trip to London was short but very productive. It’s been a few years since my last visit to Wentworth, but I must admit that I really enjoy that part of the world, especially when the sun is shining. The South of London is very picturesque with beautiful forests and stunning old buildings everywhere you look. There are some pretty special golf courses too, with Wentworth, Sunningdale, Queenwood and a host of other wonderful courses all within a few miles of one another. If only our currency was a little stronger, then playing these courses might actually be feasible as most of them have a green fee in and around £200.

My work with Branden this week was really good and again he produced another very strong performance at Wentworth.

Wentworth Golf Club

With 3 weeks to go until the US Open at Shinnecock Hills, Branden will be getting his final prep in by playing the Memorial in Ohio followed by a week off at home. His game is in good shape and I’m confident he will feature in a big way on a course that I believe will really suit him. Francesco Molinari was in a class of his own this weekend as he stretched away from a stellar field to win the biggest event of his career. His golf over the weekend was simply flawless without a single bogey over the final 36 holes. The course played softer than in previous years due to rains on Wednesday, but still offered a stern test for the game's best players. Again, the cream rose to the top on a course that really demanded nothing but your A game, especially off the tee. Just goes to show how good these guys really are.

Onto some shop news, we will be closing the store on Thursday 31 May and Friday 1 June for stock take. This is really not a fun time of year for us but it just has to be done. We will be open again on Saturday morning.

On Sunday, Andrew, Philip, Altus and I will be heading to PE to take part in the Southern and Eastern Cape Regional Championships at Wedgwood Golf Course. This is the only medal event for the year and hopefully the wind will be kind to us for the 36 holes. I look forward to letting you know how we got on in next week's newsletter. Morten and the ladies will be running the shop on Monday so if you need anything, please pop in and pay them a visit.

Our weekly deal is another good one with 50% off all our Men’s and Ladies Belts for this week only. We carry a really good range of leather and fabric belts in store so be sure to come check them out and take advantage of this great promotion. Andy takes a look at the Tom Tom 2 in his weekly review so for those looking for a distance gadget, then give his review a read and see if the Tom Tom can work for you.

Until next week,
Pete

Hi Golfers,

This week I would like to take a look at a distance measuring device that is not only simple to use, but also has every little detail one could possibly need in order to make your round of golf faster to play and make club choices easier.

The device I am talking about is the TomTom Golfer 2 and the features are simply outstanding. Some of the features can be found below -

Automatic Shot Detection - The distance of the shot you hit will be recorded.

Shot History Analysis - The device stores your previous shot history in the downloadable app and this allows you to analyze your game.

Hazards - This is a big one. The device gives you distances to every hazard off the tee, lay up and carry.

24/7 Activity tracking - Track your daily activities and upload it to the app.

Green Distances - Gives distances to the front, middle and back of the green.

More Features - There are a total of 16 unique features to this distance measuring device.

If you are in the market for a distance measuring device or looking to replace a current device, then this one should not be overlooked.

Till next time, stick to the number.
