You may know that JT Hauk is leaving as our Golf Professional at the end of the month. I want to thank JT for the many years of dedication through the “thick & thin” always with the best interest of the Membership and Club in mind. JT is going to work at Omega in PEO sales and I congratulate him on the move.

After considerable thought and consultation with the Board, I believe the best course of action is to bring on another PGA Assistant Professional to augment the staff we already have. A search for this position has begun. I will play a more prominent role in the day-to-day golf operation and, along with the strengths of Anthony, believe we will deliver an exceptional golf experience. Brady will remain an important member of the team as a PGA Apprentice. I want to re-touch on Anthony for a moment. He came to us as a PGA Member already (not an apprentice) and since then has achieved the status of Certified PGA Professional, completing a rigorous program in golf operations. This is a step toward his goal of becoming a Master Professional. I know he is already committed to making the golf operation and, importantly, the member’s golf experience, nothing short of exceptional.

Thank you to those members who have reached out to me with suggestions for candidates to fill JT’s shoes. The golf operation will be evaluated regularly to ensure we are “hitting it in the shortgrass”.

The roof project is progressing nicely. Over the next couple weeks, the remaining sections of old roof will be torn off and dried in, the metal team comes onsite to install the flashing etc. and a construction team will be rebuilding the parapets on the Clubhouse. Once complete, the new shingles will go on. If you want to see what that will look like click here. Antique Slate is the color. The Swim & Tennis roof replacement will begin tomorrow. Thanks to the Springers for their hard work on our Club.

Many thanks to member Rick DeVane for restoring the flooring of the Swim & Tennis Club and the Deckside Café & Locker Rooms. It looks brand new and will be much easier to care for.

Our membership drive is progressing nicely. I’d like to welcome the following new members to the Club who joined over the past couple of weeks:

Hugh & Kathryn Honeycutt
Jim & Ann Parham
Kevin & Danielle Atkins
David & Jackie Matern
Matt Agnini
Blake & Michelle McQueen
Mark Lever, Issac Turpin, & Jonathan Kunze from True Corp.

Thank you for the referrals and keep them coming!

The Golf Calendar of Events is available on mobile on our webiste and then log in to your member account.

Also a new feature on mobile and web is the “Golf – Grasslands Golf Staff” page with pictures of your service staff.

In addition, wearing name tags as a standard is being implemented.

To help you find the perfect partner for you on the putting green, we’ve highlighted the importance
of matching balance to your putting stroke; and then ensuring the visual appeal is right BEFORE we get to a fitting.
But now we need to look at the length of the perfect partner for you.

Two putting styles, same golfer, two Putter lengths required. The style on the left is a pendulum style,
while the one on the right has the stroke controlled by the left shoulder and elbow.

What if I told you that many, not some but many, golfers are playing with a Putter too
long to encourage the proper rotation and therefore can’t square the face at impact?

Making sure your Putter length suits your putting style, setup and size will allow you to make a
technically sound putting stroke and to repeat it time after time.
That doesn’t just lower your score, it brings you the thrill of more Putts that drop.

If you’ve already shown the athletic ability to get to 90 or threaten that score,
then it’s highly likely that we can help you improve your swing quickly to the point that you’re in the low 80’s.
The question is how quickly and easily?

If that’s a golf experience that appeals to you, then please don’t wait.
Start the journey to hitting even better golf shots.
