It was a glorious week for Lanimers and everyone was in good spirits! | | | | Tuesday night was perfect for the Ride Out!
In the first video Lord Cornet Gary Winning can be seen making the toast to Lanark Golf Club before leading off the rest of the riders (video 2) making for an impressive sight!

Friday stayed fine for the Ladies Stableford which was won by Carol Collins with 40 points, closely followed on 38 points by Isobell Orr. The good weather continued right up to 3.15pm on Saturday when the black clouds appeared and rumbles of thunder could be heard all around us. Play was suspended due to lightning, but got started again quite quickly and the competition was completed.
The Hutchison Cross was donated Lt. Col Hutchison of Harperfield in 1873, and is presented to the player with the lowest gross score, was won by Chris Orr with a score of 69. The Forrest Cup was donated by Mrs Lindsay of Bellfield in 1882 in memory of her brother, James Forrest, who was Captain of the Club in 1868. This was won by John Brownlie with a score of nett 63.
The Sweep Winners were... 1st class Chris Peat and Alan Hannay – nett 67 2nd class John Brownlie – nett 63 3rd class Douglas Martyn and Andrew Shannan – nett 66 The week ended with the Lanimer Trophy being played for in our Mixed Open Competition and this was won by Alistair Scott (Lanark) and Megan Brown (Dunfermline) with a score of 67.5.
