The 2018 Webster Cup was one for the books!
I just returned from a trip down the Garden Route and it was fantastic to play a few courses that I have never played before. Each year the PGA of South Africa invites 24 PGA Professionals to take part in the annual Webster Cup. A coastal team of 12 and an inland team of 12 takes each other on in Foursomes, Betterball and the Individual Stableford. I am very fortunate to be part of such an amazing experience. This year we played at the gorgeous Simola Golf Estate in Knysna and it did not disappoint. I thought that Simola is a great course for match play as there are a lot of risk-and-reward holes that allows you to be aggressive and then reap the rewards. The coastal team lost out last year so we were fired up to win back the trophy against the inland boys and we managed to do just that. We dominated the Foursomes and the Betterball that allowed us to go into a nice big lead with the singles on Tuesday.
Well done to the coastal team and to the captaincy of our neighbour Louis Destroo as this year's Webster Cup was one for the books. I can recommend a trip to Simola to any one of our members as their facilities are great and the guys there really know how to put up a great show.

Helena Hettema in cabaret - 13 July
Remember to book your table for this enchanting evening with cabaret singer Helena Hettema. Helena will entertain us with songs from Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel, while also doing a few of her own songs. Come dressed in red, blue and white – there will be a prize for the best dressed couple! Cost is R300 per person, which includes Beyerskloof table wines, beef bourguignon and cheese platters. Let’s celebrate Bastille Day with French cuisine, red wine and soulful music...Friends, family, homeowners and guests are welcome to join.

Sundowner & Friday Nights Live - 29 June
Due to heavy rains, we had to postpone our Sundowner and Friday Nights Live event to 29 June. Please join us for this fun event: 9 holes of golf, followed by Ernie Els Wines and pizzas per 4-ball. The course will be set up for a Par 3 Challenge, with our usual fun activation after your round of golf, presented by Titleist.
There will be lucky draws, live music by Jennifer Nel and of course our Live Draw, which has now rolled over to R4000 for one lucky member who is present on the evening. Non-golfers, family, homeowners, friends and guests are welcome - book your table at 021 8807300.

Father's Day
We celebrated Father’s Day with a Mini-craft Festval, a mouthwatering buffet lunch and live music. We were fully booked for the event and enjoyed hosting all the fathers with their families. Below some pictures of the DZ staff standing to attention to serve - bon appetit!

Play 9 with your PGA Professionals Murray & Abrie | 28 June 2018
Ever feel a little lost on the course, not sure what kind shot to play when & where or just feel your score does not reflect how well you hit the ball?
Murray & Abrie invite you to play 9 holes with them on Thursday the 28th at 13:00.
They will cover everything from course management, rules, etiquette and other general instruction to help make your next round more enjoyable.
The cost is R300 per person (excl. greenfee) and this opportunity is only available to the first 8 players to confirm.
