Feel free to enquire at Reception after the 20th, as we expect them to arrive by then. As a matter of interest, we have gone for the bigger size, which is eminently more readable. Important notices:
Kindly note that the Club has a new emergency number.
Please call the following number to get hold of us during loadshedding hours: 068 274 3693 Please also note that the managers take leave now, in what is our quietest time of the year. However, one of us is always on duty between now and the 20th January, so feel free to contact us via email if you need anything attended to urgently. Please mail all three addresses to be sure you reach the manager on duty on any specific day. The office will remain open with the exception of public holidays. Weekends are as normal. You can also see who is on duty, by looking at the board outside the office if you are at the club.
David – manager@westlakegolfclub.co.za Nick Bold – nick@westlakegolfclub.co.za Nic Lochner – Golfdirector@westlakegolfclub.co.za In closing, the staff and Committee would like to wish all our members a blessed Christmas and a prosperous and happy New Year. If you are travelling, safe travels and to everyone else, we look forward to seeing you at the club. Best wishes, David & the Westlake team With Etienne Olivier (EOGA Steenberg) How to ensure solid struck chip and pitch shots all the time There are 4 essential elements: Setup: • Front foot flared out, with the knees turned slightly towards the target • Body weight 60% on the left, with zero tilt behind the ball. It helps to imagine that you’re on a skateboard going down a hill. • Ball position left off centre, with a tiny bit of shaft lean. Backswing: • No lower half movement, weight stays forward Contact: • Chest has now gone ahead of where you’ve started. Finish:
• Rotate and extend the chest to make sure that the club moves through the ball and that you maintain club loft.
Investing in your short game is key. Stick to good basics and check in with your local EOGA professional to ensure that you build good fundamentals.Alec at alec@eoga.co.za or 082 829 7094 |
