We are here to help you prepare for Club Champs...
Long Game Clinic – 8th April 2020

Thanks to those that attended yesterday’s Short Game Clinic – hopefully you are finding the tips useful and are seeing some improvement in your game.

Next month we will revert back to a Long Game Clinic (Wed, 8th April) – and this time around you can join Ian, Elsabe & Justin.

They will again do some video analysis which will be sent to you afterwards so you can refer back to it while you practice.

Bookings are essential as space is limited – give Elsabe a call or WhatsApp on 082-922-8408.

Lower your score by improving one aspect of your game

Zwartkop has produced many Springbok golfers starting with my father Otway and brother John.

My father was in the very first Springbok team that went overseas and the other three in that team were Bobby Locke, Clarence Olander and Frank Agg. That was in 1937.

John made the team in 1962 and then came John Fourie and Rod Mullen in the middle sixties. I was in the Eisenhower Trophy team in 1970 with John Fourie, Hugh Baoicchi and Dave Symonds. In 1982 Wilhelm Winsnes got chosen to play for South Africa.

Otway & John Hayes; John Fourie; Rod Mullen; John Fourie and Wilhelm Winsnes all won Zwartkop's Club Championship. Louis Norval also won the Club Championship and was chosen to play for the Springbok Team, but they banned the SA Team, so he unfortunately never actually got his Springbok blazer.

This week’s Hero…

Congratulations to Ruan Jooste for winning the first Golf Management Campus 72-hole Strokeplay tournament of the year. Extra special is that two of his four rounds were under 70 – and his overall score was seven shots better than this time last year!

Find your truth

Know where you’re going

Launching your golf ball onto a soaring and accurate trajectory is one of the most satisfying feelings in golf. Most golfers are playing with a lie angle that makes this more difficult than it should be.
Find your lie >

1 degree makes a big difference
When your lie angle is out by just 1 degree, you can stray up to 10 feet wide of your target. That’s the difference between a birdie opportunity and a pressure putt to save par.

Nobody wants to be in a bunker any longer than necessary. The new Cleveland Smart Sole 4 Sand Wedge makes it easier to get out fast and accurately.

Build your best game

A longer tee shot means a shorter iron into the green, and we can all hit shorter irons more easily.

HOW'S YOUR ATTACK?
Most amateurs hit down on the ball with driver, creating what we call a negative ‘angle of attack’. This adds extra spin and reduces distance. To hit it further, what you want is a flatter or positive angle of attack, so you’re ‘hitting up’ on the ball.
