As a collective group you have to be seriously impressed with the innovation shown by many PGA Professionals in this challenging time. Pause and wonder how could we carry that innovation forward when this challenge is all over.

If you’re a golf professional or assistant, I’m betting you played all sorts of different crazy formats of golf just to get out there.

The Pro used to let us walk out to the 13th or 4th when the field was nearly finished. We’d play 3 clubs, 6 holes. You all took your #7 iron, a wedge, and a putter. We each took a turn choosing the tee-off point. There was a lot of strategy in that. Even where you chose to come in at the flag from.

It was 60 minutes of amazing fun. I was a football (soccer) nutcase, but I couldn’t wait for after-school training to finish so that I could get up to the club with my buddies and play that game.

I always used to wonder why there wasn’t a club knock-out using this format, or why everyone didn’t play it from time to time.

I really wonder if we couldn’t try to encourage a lot more 60-minutes of golf as we come out of the restrictions placed on so many golf courses around the world.
