PGA Professionals are the most undervalued resource in the golf industry.

Yesterday I asked: how would you add substantial new golfers to the game; how would you add 50 new members to your club, and how would you increase equipment sales by at least 25%?

We know how a PGA Professional, especially a golf coach, can deliver those results. We want to tell owners, committees, and managers that you can deliver those results.

But at least two very senior education leaders in our industry have worried about promoting your skills in business development to owners and managers because they fear that you will be asked a question you can’t answer.

That leads me to three questions for you:

Do you feel adequately educated on how to reduce attrition (losses of golfers and members), increase activation (more rounds and more spend from individual golfers), and accelerate acquisition (new golfers and new members)?

Do you feel it’s important to have that knowledge, and would you welcome owners and managers asking for your help?

If you feel that there’s more to learn, what are you doing about that?
