We’ve talked a lot about how we keep the wave of golf participation generated by the experiences in 2020, but what about creating the next wave ourselves?

I’d like to thank Stacey Koppens for engaging with my questions relating to women’s golf:
Why is the conversion rate from ‘learner’ to ‘golfer’ so poor?
Who is responsible for getting the golfer across the chasm from learner
to golfer?

Stacey went to the more positive: “How do we create a good conversion rate from ‘learner’ to ‘golfer’?

“We need to create fast, flexible formats for women to play and then we have to hold their hands long enough for them to create strong personal friendships with other recreational and regular golfers.”

Stacey clearly embraces the bigger picture role of the coach. One where the judgment of a good coach is based around the number of golfers, members, and rounds they create.

If you had to pick two improvements you’ll make in 2021 to increase the conversion rate of lady learners to recreational golfers, what would
they be?
