Are we under-achieving, if we measure the number of golfers who invest in coaching?

This week I sat in a meeting with 8 or 9 PGA Professionals who each had to tell a ‘success’ story they’d had with one of their golfers in the last month.

It gave you chills to hear how these Professionals had impacted the lives of members at the club in the last 30 days. Amazing. At the end, it was a stop-the-room and breathe-with-pride moment for the General Manager, the Director of Golf and the whole team of Ops staff and Coaches.

How many of those stories had found their way to a newsletter, email, or the club’s social or email feed? You’ve guessed it. None.

Those stories don’t just belong in the club’s email or social feed. They belong in the PGA of America’s website and feed. They belong in the USGA’s website and feed.

Sure, it was sensational watching a truly talented American golfer who has battled physical adversity to win himself $ 15 million. But the stories in that room were about PGA Professionals changing the lives of people, one at a time.

And there are thousands and thousands of PGA Professionals doing that each and every week.

Yes, these should be published because the industry needs to know just what a huge impact you make. But, they also serve to inspire golfers or wannabes or maybes who read them to see the game of golf as something that can be so much more. It can change their life.

And the guide that best changes a life, is the PGA Professional who works at a golf facility.

Tell your stories. If you missed it earlier this week,
