Attracting people and golfers to your brand, club, shop, or coaching tee, will become easier with the right words that match your goal to a need.

I was in a meeting with some golf professionals last week and they talked about attracting golfers by promoting their ability to lower their handicap.

I asked them to think about John or Jane, golfers playing off 22 shooting between 92 & 96 on most rounds. Sometimes they blow out. And very occasionally they break 90.

Which message do you think connects more emotionally?

“We can help you get your handicap down to 17 or even lower.”

Or

“How would you like to break 90 every time?”

They stated that “making single figures” was a big draw. I’m sure they’re right. So which connects more with the emotions of a golfer?

“Join our coaching program and make single figures.”

Or

“What about shooting in the 70s most times?”

It's important to think about what connects with your customer’s emotions when creating content.
