Attracting people and golfers to your brand, club, shop, or coaching tee, will become easier with the right words that match your goal to a need.

What most often inspires a golfer to invest in coaching? How would you rank the following? Which is the most powerful motivator? Which is least likely to motivate a golfer to improve?

• A lower handicap (getting a handicap, below 20, below 15, single figures);
• A benchmark score (breaking 100, 90, 85, in the 70s);
• Mastering a golfing skill (bunker shots; reading greens; pitching it close, etc.);
• Solving a problem they have (slice, yips, chunking or thinning pitch shots, etc.);
• Adding yards to their shots?

Remember in your content, you’re trying to connect with the golfer. Our experience tells us that four of these motivating factors will connect more easily to the golfer than one of them.

Whichever you choose to use to inspire a golfer, start and finish with the emotions or feelings. That’s what most people will connect to. And that’s what most people base their decisions on.
