In the golf industry there is no more powerful influence in each local golf community than the PGA or LPGA Professional.

I have received a good number of emails asking about the “Short-game master” and “Break 85” programs we have referred to in the last two weeks.

It is really worth your while to have a “pathway” of these subscription programs in your Locker or on your shelf. Having them gives you a tremendous opportunity.

You should have a “scorecard” pathway for those that are inspired by a number (e.g. ‘Break 100’, ‘Break 85’ etc). Have a handicap-based pathway (e.g. ‘Your first handicap’, ‘Single figures’ etc.). Have skills-based pathways (e.g. Short-game graduate’, ‘Putting wizard’).

Equipped with those, you can approach an assessment much more easily, able to finish the assessment with three options including one premium program.

It allows you to include the following questions in the assessment or accompanied play:

“What is important to you about your golf”; “What would you most like to improve in your golf”?

The golfer is telling you what would inspire them.

Now your premium proposition is the solution the golfer is most inspired by.

You’re also equipped with the observation from the assessment or accompanied play to know how much effort you think it's going to take to deliver the golfer the improvement they want. You’ll know how much can be group learning and supervised group practice, vs one-on-one lessons. You’ll be able to build a price that fits the challenge you face.
