Tournament Results
In the Father’s Day Pro-Am, the top 3 teams were separated by a mere 2 strokes. In the 2 Best-Balls net of the 4 scoring, Steve Jepsen, TJ Lombardini, Dan McCarthy and Bill Kennedy came out on top with a score of 122 (-20) thanks to a birdie- net eagle on the final hole by Bill Kennedy. That proved to be the difference as they edged out the team of Peter Donovan, Peter Chamberlain, Charlie Toczylowski, and Darwish Yusah by a single stroke, and the team of Chris Manning, Jim Harding, Cubby McGee, and Allen Gallant by 2.
U.S. Open thoughts
There is no question that Justin Rose played the best golf down the stretch on Sunday to win the U.S. Open at Merion. The U.S.G.A. usually sets up the course to produce a level par result and with Rose finishing at +1, the USGA just about got it spot on. With the course measuring under 7,000 yards - the real test was a player's ability to control the ball. It was nice to see that it was not just about length - Phil Mickelson didn't even have a Driver in his bag! Another runner up finish for Phil in the U.S. Open. Lefty hit enough fairways and greens to win the tournament, however, usually known for his fabulous wedge play and putting, both seemed to leave him in the final round. He may go down as one of the best putters in golf history, but it was his putter let him down the most at the 2013 U.S. Open. | |  |

June 26th – 1-Day Member-Guest
NEW FOR THIS YEAR!
What is so new about a 1-Day Member-Guest? How about a 1-Day Member-Guest on a Wednesday! For several years now, the golf committee has been hearing from members who would love the opportunity to bring some guests to a 1-Day Member-Guest, but can’t because they travel out of town on Friday for the weekend. “Can’t we have one during the week?” they ask. Well your golf committee has heard you, and for the very first time at LGC, we have scheduled a Member-Guest tournament on a Wednesday! Open to all members. Bring 1,2, or 3 guests. Entry fee includes prizes, range balls and dinner. Shotgun start at 1 pm. Sign up in Pro shop. Field is limited to the first 60 players to sign up.
June 29th- Skins Game
Our annual Skins event. Gross and Net Skins. It only takes one good hole!
July 4th- Mixed event
Followed by our annual Clam Bake. Come celebrate Independence Day at LGC. Sign up on bulletin board.
July 6-7 - Mid-Summer Classic
A member-member style tournament with a twist. More info on the bulletin board and website.
July 14th - Memorial Scholarship Pro-Am
Our annual fund raiser for the LGC Memorial Scholarship fund. This will be the second year using the very popular Bramble format for this tournament. Last year we used format for the first time at LGC and everyone had a blast! Watch for the mailer.
