Tournament Recap Once again, the Mid-Summer Classic was determined by the Chapman format of the 2nd round. The modified alternate shot format requires patience and a bit of team strategy. For the past 6 years, one team has done that better than any other.
The father and son duo, and defending Champions, Paul and Jim Caruso once again showed that they have found the secret to Chapman scoring. On Sunday, they shot the 3rd lowest round of the day, a 4 under par 67. Combined with an opening best-ball round of 61, their 128 (-14) total was just good enough to capture their 4th Mid-Summer Classic title. They also won back to back titles in 2008 and 2009 (. . . can you say DYNASTY!). | | Mid-Summer Champions Paul and Jim Caruso.

In 2nd place, finishing 1 shot back, were the first round leaders Tom Harvey and Jack Finlayson (60-69). Third place went to Rob Justice and Peter DelGreco (64-67). Rounding out the top scorers, in a tie for fourth, we had the teams of Mark and Gary Bianco (68-64) and Steve Geldart and Lee Smith (67-65). Nearest to the pin winners were Allen Gallant (#5), Bob Gryp (#17), Gary Bianco (#8), and Mike Champagne (#14). Congratulations to all the winners.
Fescue area between #4 and #1 fairways.
| | You will start to see some fescue areas being grown in around the golf course. The most obvious being the area of tree removal between the 1st and 4th hole. Please be reminded to keep ALL carts out of the long grass areas.
Thank you in advance. |

July 14th: Memorial Scholarship Pro-Am Our annual fundraiser for the LGC Memorial Scholarship fund. This will be the second year using the very popular Bramble format for this tournament. In the Bramble format, all players on a team tee off, and like a scramble, the team chooses the best drive. From that position, each team member plays their own ball into the hole. The team score is the 2 best balls of the foursome. 80% of handicap is used for net scoring. Last year we used format for the first time at LGC and everyone had a blast! Watch for the mailer. Information is also posted on the bulletin board. Please support our scholarship fund. If you find you cannot play, please consider a kind contribution to the scholarship fund. Click here to download the registration form. July 15th: N.E.P.G.A. Junior Tour The N.E.P.G.A. Junior Tour makes a stop at L.G.C.
