Well done and congratulations to our two super stars – Johan Bredenkamp and Stefan Jacobs, who have been selected to represent CGGU in the upcoming SA Junior IPT in Kimberley from 18 - 22 December! We wish them the best of LUCK!

Congratulations to Grant Labuschagne, who was part of the Central Gauteng U/15 golf side that won the Quadrangular hosted at Peacanwood yesterday. Well Played Grant and the team!

Congratulations to Casey Twidale, who made the most of a great opportunity yesterday. She played in her first Inter-Provincial Quadrangular for Central Gauteng, and helped the U/19 girls team take home the gold by winning 5 ½ out of 6 matches. Casey also shot her first eagle.

What a cracker of a weekend; we could not have asked for better conditions over the last couple of days. Yes, it was a little windy, but the sun was shining, and we had temperatures in the mid 20s on Saturday and Sunday.

The Joker Draw is in full swing. Members are reminded that tickets can be bought during the week, and not just on a Saturday before prize-giving.

During the morning prize-giving, Dave Tunbridge was the lucky winner to see if he was able to draw the Joker, worth over R7000. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be, but Dave walked away with R300 credit loaded onto his membership card for taking part.

We had a few more entries for the PM draw, and as the draw was won last week, the amount was reset to R5000 for the afternoon field. Our ladies Captain, Jeanne de Power was the member to try her luck after her name was drawn out of the box. As with the morning field, Jeanne could not manage to find the Joker, but she also walked away with R300 credit loaded onto her membership card.

Our attendance draw for the morning was not won. The PM draw, that was sitting at three bottles, was won by Sisa Njongwe. After the draw, Sisa kindly donated one bottle towards the Ladies Section for their Charity Open. Thank you very much.

Men vs Ladies

The annual Men vs Ladies was played on a very windy Bushwillow course on Saturday afternoon. We had a total of 18 pairs (9 ladies and 9 men) that participated this year. As with any other year, it’s all about the bragging rights for the year, the spirit of the competition, and mixing the timesheet up, where men and ladies can enjoy a competitive round of golf with their playing partners. We all know that our Randpark members are very competitive, and it was great to see that the overall result would come down to the last game on the course. With the score tied at 4 all, Schalk Naude and Armand Wolmarans were the heroes on the day to snatch the last point for the day to secure a 5 – 4 victory for the Men. Well done gentleman and ladies, we know that you will come back next year to retain the bragging rights.

Charity Open – Sunday

We had great support for our Charity Open that was played on Sunday, with a total of 148 golfers on both courses. The format was Betterball Stableford, with two mystery holes on both courses. We would like to thank all our sponsors, members, staff members, and the Ladies Section for an absolute great event. Without your support, an event like this would not have been possible.

Well done to all our winners!
