 From the Founder’s Desk

It was wonderful to welcome our new PGA Diploma 1st year students to the Academy on Monday, and it looks like we have a great group of young aspiring players and future golf industry leaders.

In my introduction to them, I reflected on my own journey, to provide some insight into what lies ahead for them. I told them I commenced my PGA college course in the UK, 29 years ago (crikey!!), and that it provided the foundation for a successful career, which has taken me around the world. I promised them that those opportunities will be theirs too. I also promised them that they have enrolled into one of the best golf college programmes in the world, that the time will go quickly, and that they will make friends for life.

The students are now in the middle of an intensive week of golf assessments. Late enrolment is still open for a limited time and a limited number. Reply to this email to apply.

Here is a graph showing the tournament scores for the 2021 PGA Tour Player of the Year, Patrick Cantlay. Despite an amazing season, his season included five missed cuts, including four in a row. There were 18 shots between his lowest and highest scores.

Consistency in golf doesn’t exist. Parents, please be kind and supportive, and show unconditional love after every tournament round, no matter the score.

Encourage learning from each experience, and a focus on the process and effort.

 Graduate Testimonial

“Our practice facility allows for full swings, chipping and putting, which give us the opportunity to work on any aspect of our game. I am grateful for the relationships I got to build with my coach, trainer, tutors, and my mental coach. It took trust, hard work, heavy days, and patience to get where I am today. I salute my team for helping me become the best version of the golfer I can be.”
- Michelle Steyn, PGA Diploma Graduate 2021

  Celebrating our A-team!
 Study Centre Results

We had a pleasing set of recent exam results, and are very proud of the achievements of our students, particularly as they all have extensive sporting schedules. In fact, eight out of the 24 students who took IGCSE and AS levels exams achieved at least one A grade.

The overall set of results from the Cambridge October/November exams was the best we have had since opening the Study Centre in 2014. Our GED students also did tremendously well.

Here are some of our best academic performers:

Congratulations to these students and all the others who achieved their goal results or better. We will keep you posted about any further graduate news through our various media platforms, as and when we hear about it.
