| | From the Founder's Desk | Charity Golf Day | | I watched with immense pride as our 3rd year PGA Diploma students hosted a fantastic charity golf day on Thursday last week. Every detail was managed completely by the students, who have been ably guided and prepared by Head of College Academics Mark Fairbank. This exercise is one of the many practical assessments that the students need to complete to successfully graduate. See full details of the golf day below. A busy week continued as we hosted two successful open days at our golf and football campuses on Saturday. To showcase the programmes that we have developed, and to hear the impromptu positive feedback that our students give on the day is always special. Another bursting-with-pride moment came during my presentation when I listed some of the success stories of our alumni. Like a proud father I could literally go on for hours on that subject. | | | Do you acknowledge the positive things you do during a round? | | Performance tip of the week | | Brought to you by Michelle Steyn, BSI Golf Coach | Read this week's performance tip below. | | | Acknowledge your own performance! | Click on the link below to read more on how you can create a more positive round of golf for yourself: | BSI Premier 18-Hole Medal | Well done to Jacques van der Merwe for his score of 68, 4-under and winning the BSI 18-Hole Premier Medal on Friday, 13 May 2022 played on Royal Johannesburg and Kensington GC West Course. Jacques was part of our high school programme three years ago and came back in April this year to continue his golf ambitions in our PGA Diploma. He was a sound junior golfer in high school and it shows that his base training with us has maintained over the years – Well done. Personal bests:

This is the second tied-win between our two young, up-and-coming stars. With five wins for Vuyisani and six for Eric in 16 medals this year, only 2033 points separate them in our Junior Order of Merit. Eric has also won two in a row and is looking for the ‘three-peat’ on Friday! Personal best:

We therefore encourage members of the public, prospective students and parents to attend our bi-annual Open Days, whereby we are able to dedicate more time and man-power to ensuring people who attend have a better understanding of what we offer. This year’s BSI Golf Open Day was once again well-attended by potential families and supported by our BSI community of staff, coaches, students and parents. We highlight the various golf and academic programmes that we offer at BSI as well as the many success stories of our alumni around the world. We would like to thank everyone who came out to the Open Day and hope that you had all your questions answered.
