It was a very wet Saturday! We had a big storm come over Friday evening, and it only stopped raining on Saturday morning. We recorded 46mm of rain during this period. The call was made to close the courses on Saturday morning, to reduce further damage, and re-open it in the afternoon with no carts.
We have been made aware that some members unfortunately did not receive the Club communication, which was sent in the morning regarding the course closures. If you did not receive the SMS on Saturday morning, will you please let us know by sending your name and cell number to sales@randpark.co.za, so that we can re-add you to the SMS broadcast list.
We are also aware that the push notification via the Randpark App yesterday morning was only delivered late last night.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience these communications caused over the weekend. We are investigating both the systems with our service providers. |

The second last round of the 2021 Scratch League was played on Sunday. Our C-Side played away vs Parkview, and managed a 4.5 – 3.5 win. This is a great result, as it is never easy to win at Parkview.
Our D-side came up against Meyerton at home. It came down to the last player on the course. Johan Grobbelaar was 3 down with 3 holes to play. The team already secured 4 out of the 8 points, and Johan had to win all three holes to secure the halve and a win for the team. Johan showed great BMT, and managed to win all three holes to secure a 4.5 – 3.5 win over Meyerton. It was a great team effort; well done to both sides on two great results.

• Firethorn side – B-Division = finished 3rd on 10 points (P: 9, W: 4, L: 2, D: 3)
• Bushwillow side – C-Division = finished 1st on 12 points and 45 game points (P: 9, W: 5, L: 2, D: 2); will be going up to B-Division
• Creek 9 side – D-Division = finished 8th on 6 points (P: 9, W: 2, L: 5, D: 2) |
• Firethorn side – A-Division = finished 1st on 16 points (P: 10, W: 7, L: 1, D: 2)
• Bushwillow side – B-Division = finished 5th on 5 points (P: 10, W: 2, L: 7, D: 1); will be moving to the C-Division for the 2022 season |
• Firethorn side – C-Division = finished tied 4th on 2 points (P: 4 , W: 1, L: 3)
• Bushwillow side – C-Division = finished 2nd on 5 points (P: 4, W: 2, L: 1, D: 1) |
• A-side – A-Division = finished 3rd on 7 points (P: 7, W: 3 , L: 3, D: 1)
• B-side – B-Division = finished 2nd on 9 points (P: 7, W: 4, L: 2, D: 1); will be moving to the A-Division for the 2022 season.
C & D – sides still have one fixture left for the 2022 season.
Two of our sides have been invited to the CGGU 2021 Awards Dinner that will take place on the 22nd of February.
Our Bushillow Betterball and Firethorn Mid-Am teams were awarded for winning their respective divisions in the 2021 season. |

The Joker and Member Attendance Draws will once again be held this coming Saturday, the 15th of January 2022!
Members are reminded that you can buy your tickets for the Joker Raffle Draw during the week in the Terrace Bar, Baobab Terrace, or the Golf Shop. Get one ticket for R10, six tickets for R50, or really increase your chances with 15 tickets for R100!
Don’t forget to hand in your scorecards on Saturday, and stand a chance to be one of the lucky Johnny Walker Black winners!
You just have to be present when the draws take place. The AM draw will take place after the morning field prize-giving (14h00), and the PM draw will take place after the afternoon field prize-giving (18h00).
