  From the Golf Manager
 Joe Sepesy

With a busy June now behind us, and July already proving to be just as active, we are excited to share with you some updates!

We are pleased that the extended Driving Range hours have been a hit, with many taking advantage and working on their long game as well as that all-important chip shot.

Kindly note the hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 8:00pm, and on weekends from 7:00am to 6:00pm.

The Pro Shop has come to life with the expansion of our Retail which now carries a variety of new attire for men, women, and children from various brands such as Polo, Peter Millar, and EPP Pro. So, if you’re looking to update your golf wardrobe or need a gift for friends and family, please stop by, and our friendly staff will be sure to fill your needs.

Twenty new electric carts are on order and will arrive sometime in late spring-early summer 2023. The new carts will be the Club Car Tempo with the latest lithium-Ion battery technology. This addition will add to our current fleet and allow us to host larger golf events for members and guests alike.

And finally, our new golf rental sets have arrived with new TaylorMade Sim2 Drivers and fairway woods along with Sim2 Max Irons putter and bag. We hope to have additional Golf clubs and assorted supplies soon, including demo clubs, to keep your game sharp.

The Pro Shop is here to help!
Thank you again for all of your support. And remember, we’re here to help in any way we can, whether it's to help you organize a tournament, get a lesson, or help with a gift from the Pro Shop.

Simply stop by the shop, call us at 298-6970, or get in touch by clicking on the button below.

A reminder to our members about the Golf Handicap Information Network (GHIN). GHIN Handicap System. This service is operated by the USGA to provide handicaps at registered golf clubs. Each GHIN number is unique and assigned to one individual player.

We recommend all our golf members to sign up and start to enter your scores. This will help the team run tournaments both - fun/social events and low handicapper events. It will also help your game get better and better.

To get signed up please call the pro shop and ask for one of our Pros, Dwayne, Mark or Adam who will assist with sign-up. Once you are set up, simply  download the USGA Handicap App and you will be able to enter your scores immediately following your round. Your home course will be Tucker's Point.

Bermuda Amateur Stroke Play

I would like to recognize and congratulate Adam Perry on a tremendous performance in the 3-day Bermuda Amateur Championships at Port Royal this last weekend, including two days of rain. Adam finished 10 strokes ahead of his nearest rival, shot a 68 on the last day, and was only 6 shots over par after 3 rounds. Alongside him was another member, namely our own Tracy Burgess, who won the Seniors Ladies Championship, and Kim Botelho, who won 2nd place in the Ladies Division. Well done!

Adam Perry – 1st Place Men’s Championship Division
Tracy Burgess - 1st place Senior Ladies Division & 3rd Place Ladies Division
Kim Botelho - 2nd Place Ladies Division

  From the Grounds Superintendent
 Andre Cannonier

The healing process from the aerification is underway. The lack of rain, however, has meant the recovery is taking longer than anticipated. To offset this, we will cancel the second aerification planned for August and continue to vent the greens on a regular basis which causes no disruption to play.

With the Water Park and Sailing School in full swing, there is a safety concern from golf balls flying into that area. To address this concern, we will temporarily shorten the 11th hole, and then in the Fall, the hole will be redesigned and lengthened.

Hole #4 will see some construction due to the new cart path being built. We will try to minimize the disruption to play while the construction is taking place.

That’s all from me. I just pray for more rain in the next few weeks!

Happy golfing,
Andre Cannonier

 Yoga on the Croquet Lawn

7:30am to 8:30am Monday to Friday on The Croquet Lawn during July and August.

Meet on the Croquet Lawn. No reservation necessary. Complimentary to our members.

  No more slice
Where are you going from here?

Shooting below 85 or even near to that number is very difficult if your first move on the downswing takes your hands “outside the line” (that’s a technical term we use to describe the relationship between your swing and the plane).

“Once your hands get outside, it is almost impossible to hit a straight shot (unless it's straight left for right-handers). You are trying to manipulate the face to be square to the target line. At best you’ll have a fade. Inconsistency is the most likely result."

   No more slice
Finding the fairway off the tee makes the rest of the hole so much more enjoyable. Then hitting an approach at the green becomes fun. If losing the ball to the trees or rough off the tee, or to the bunkers or water on approach, because a slice or fade ruins too many of your holes, then let’s change that right now.

  How can we help you?
  Connection matters

If there’s one reason why everyone should play golf, it’s the friends to be made and the connections to be nurtured.

We’ve all experienced a world where people have been separated and kept apart. The game of golf has so much potential to heal that world. The game helps to bring people together.

It’s interesting that one survey of what people most enjoy about golf saw “fun with friends” at #1, ahead of personal achievement or accomplishment.

Sometimes when someone joins a golf club though it isn’t as easy as they might like to find introductions when so many groups are already established.

    If you’d like introductions
If you’d like to meet more people at the club, or be introduced to new playing partners, then we can help. Just reach out and we can have a chat about how we can help.
