PGA Professionals are the potential ‘leaders of our industry’. That offers them so much potential, but they need to embrace a role with responsibility, and the development of a skill set that promises greatness.

Over to you to describe a journey

You have a golfer in front of you, or on the phone, or next to you on the tee, and they ask:
“I have two children; six and eight; are they too young to get into golf?”

You could simply say, “no, they’re never too young for golf”. But this is your opportunity to present yourself as the EXPERT-GUIDE. Your answer reveals: whether you have the expertise to develop children; whether you have a “map” for their development; and whether you have an awareness of what is important to parents.

So your question at coffee today is:
Can you write down a 45-second answer that is likely to see the parent both educated about the journey and why that’s important; and inspired to hand over their children along with a hefty subscription fee?

If you have your ADM certification, then you should have a good idea of how to answer this.

This book is written in a very conversational style. The style, which might annoy the more academic, makes it easy to read in the evenings. It made me realize how much I had to get better at listening.
