Golf is in the sweetest of sweet spots. It is potentially the future for everyone.
The challenge and opportunity is ours

Today’s thoughts are dedicated to Derek and Sheena. Two people who showed me just how important the human connection is to a golf club; and just how important a golf club could be to people’s lives and the well-being of the whole town.
When the world goes crazy
Sometimes one needs to be without something to realize its true value.

Sometimes one needs to see a “threat” to understand change
is required.

Sometimes only craziness deprives people of what they take for granted or causes them to realize how bad things could be.

Golfers have realized how important golf is to their lives. People have realized how important social connections are to their sanity and well-being. The world has discovered the difference between being captive and confined and free and outdoors.

And in all of this, for most, there is a fundamental re-set in their priorities. Experience means more than “stuff”.

Finally, although no-one is really talking about it yet, the world is realizing how important their current state of health is.

What have we learned?

We’ve had beautiful golf courses, amazing club houses, standing empty.

We know what we’ve missed.

In all of this, there is a match made in heaven. This is a re-set moment for everyone. Let’s do the right thing, because we have the chance to hit it out of the sweet spot and make golf THE past-time for everyone.

For those of you still in lockdown, unable to yet welcome back golfers, our hearts go out to you. But we can promise you that you’re going to welcome back a “flood” of passion and love for the game and your golf course. Stay strong and plan a new and better world.
