I am not a big fan of keeping a score when playing golf, unless I am preparing for a tournament, this is because I think it detracts from the joy of being out in the open air enjoying the course and the companionship of your playing partners. (I also really enjoy playing on my own and the solitude and calmness on the course).
In fact, I had a new student come to me quite upset and frustrated because they were disappointed with their score, when they were simply not ready to be worried about scoring, and should just be focused on having fun!
But the Pros keep their score and even the minute stats?
Yes, that is true, but they also play thousands of rounds. If you really need to count something, count the total number of putts per round. The tour average is less than 30 per round, I would be surprised if your putts are less than 40 per round, that’s 10 shots of potential!
The best way to develop your game is our Mini Golf School.
We spend 2 hours with you fine tuning your swing and short game in our new practice area, and then playing 9 holes with you. We can do the lesson as early as 7.30am or as late as 6.30pm!
Contact us and let's get your game to where you enjoy it more! |
