Low Handicap Index
We continue with updates on the changes for the new World Handicap System. This week we cover Low Handicap Index. The new World Handicap will keep track of the lowest your handicap has been over the last 12 months and will use this as a way to limit your upward movement in the handicap range. Essentially this is a way that the new system is trying to help eliminate the potential of sandbagging. The Low Handicap Index will also be used in certain events at CCL such as Jambalea and Men’s Quota to help limit handicap management around those events.

JAMBALEA 2020
We have began planning for the 2020 Jambalea! The event will take place on June 24th through June 27th this year. Click here for a sign-up form and for more details on schedule of the event. We will have sign-up similar to past years on Thursday, February 20th at 7:45 am. The field will be open to the first 64 members. Below are some updates for the event and guidelines for the sign-up day.
Event
Each player in the event must have a USGA Handicap. We will use the players lowest handicap index from the last 12 months (June 15th, 2019 to June 14th, 2020).
The Derby will have some new ways to qualify and the Saturday Finals will have a new format.
We will continue with the format of seven 9-hole matches and flights of 8 teams.
Sign-up
Sign-up will start at 7:45 am on Thursday, February 20th
A member must be present and have the sign up form completed to sign-up. If a member can’t be there then they can have somebody stand in for them to bring the sign-up sheet.
The sign-ups will be taken on a first come first serve basis.
If anybody brings more than one sign-up sheet, the first sheet they bring will be taken when they get to the front of the line.
They will need to get back in line to turn the second sheet in.
Daisy 2020
We are also starting to plan for the 2020 Daisy Classic. We are excited for another great year with this event. It will be held on June 11th through June 13th and we will be continuing with the format of five 9-hole matches for the event.
